We are always happy and excited to be part of a couple’s special day. In this article, we want to convey some of the basics to help you put together a fabulous musical program for your wedding ceremony.
The prelude takes place approximately 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony. During the prelude, we set the mood while your guests are finding their seats and waiting for the ceremony to commence. Our clients usually leave the choice of music to us for this segment of the ceremony. Musical selections can vary from soft elegant background music to lighter selections that will accent the moment tastefully.
The processional usually consists of two different musical selections. The first piece is played as the bridal party processes down the aisle. The second selection is the accompaniment we perform as the bride makes her grand entrance. Our clients will choose these selections according to their style and taste. There aren’t any rights or wrongs here. Just let each selection of music be a reflection of your unique personality.
During those significant moments such as the candle lighting ceremony, our duo will play appropriate background music to compliment the setting. Throughout the ceremony, we will take our cue from the officiant and tastefully add special musical touches to every appropriate moment.
It is during the recessional that we play bright and uplifting music as the extended bridal party and bride and groom make their exit from the ceremony site. We will continue with a postlude which will provide your guests with musical accompaniment as they make their exit.
